A Man

 


Do you know Jesus said that He was a man? John 8:40.You might be saying of course he is man but God and man! Most Christians would probably say the same thing, but did you know the Bible does not teach that Jesus was 100% God and 100% man? Contrary to popular belief Jesus never claimed to be God, his own disciples did not even think that He was God. Yeah, sure there are verses that seem to say differently, but do they? Are we taking scripture out of context? I believe most are doing just that. Many Bible believing students will quote scripture from just about every New Testament book accept one.


                                               THE BOOK OF ACTS


I have heard the arguments; Acts is just transitional book. I would have to disagree with that statement for a reason. The Book of Acts is actually THE only book in the New Testament that contains the actual verbatim preaching of the apostles to lost people not only about Jesus, but also about salvation, I would strongly contend that Acts IS the foundation of the New Testament Church. This should be the book we go to find out what the Apostles first said about Jesus and the reason why?

Neither pray I for these alone, but for them also that will believe on me THROUGH THEIR WORD!


Let that sink in for a minute, where can we go to see what THEIR word was going to be?

DRUM ROLL please ....................The Book of Acts! You got to be kidding, no not at all. It is where it all began on the Day of Pentecost after the 120 were filled with the Holy Ghost and power (Acts 1:8) It is where Peter who was given the keys by Jesus himself gave his first ever speech about Jesus beginning in Acts 2:22. I encourage you to take the time to read what the apostles said about Jesus beginning there. If they did not begin by saying Jesus was God, then WHY would they change their mind later? One of the most favorite sayings of Jesus was the "son of man" some 84 times he called himself this and it is a reference to being a human being. The other man in the Bible ever to be called "son of man" is the Prophet Ezekiel, and if Ezekiel was called "son of man "and he was a human then by all means Jesus was a human being also. Did you know Jesus was never on trial for claiming to be God? That is another fact many never consider. My friend it may be alarming to read what you just did but if it is in the bible, we should not have any fear. We should only be speaking where the bible speaks and not forming different ideals no matter who says different. I realize there are many churches today who want to make Jesus God, in fact each Sunday many churches preach Jesus to the exclusion of his God and Father, have you ever noticed? Most if not all songs are about Jesus, ask yourself, when is the last time you heard a sermon about our Father? Please do not misunderstand, Jesus is worthy of praise and worship, he is my Lord and Savior but just like the apostles would say, He is not my God, because they never did in the Book of Acts. Jesus is (still is although glorified) still a man today and scripture says he is at the right hand of God, what is he doing? He is our mediator between us and God. I hope this blesses someone.
