Epistle Salvation, is that what you have?

Have you ever considered if you were really born again? What if you found out that you really were not saved that time you "accepted Christ as your personal Savior? "Would you be upset? I know who am I to question YOUR salvation right? I am not questioning your salvation; I am just asking a question because what I present today in this post is something worth sharing and hopefully cause someone to really consider where they are with God when it comes to a subject that effects their eternity. There is a lot of good bible believing God fearing people in this world today who sincerely in their heart love God and they love the Lord Jesus Christ. I believe many people have truly tried to do what they thought was the right thing to do when they decided to "get saved". I would like to share with you something from the bottom of my heart and I do truly mean what I say. I asked you earlier what if you found out that you really were not saved? The reason I ask you this is I would like share with you a passage from the Book of Acts found in Acts 18:24-26 and it deals with a man named Apollos.

Meanwhile a Jew named Apollos, a native of Alexandria, came to Ephesus. He was an eloquent man, well versed in the Scriptures. 25He had been instructed in the way of the Lord and was fervent in spirit. He spoke and taught accurately about Jesus,e though he knew only the baptism of John. 26And he began to speak boldly in the synagogue. When Priscilla and Aquila heard him, they took him aside and explained to him the way of God more accurately.

We are told about this man named Apollos that he was already well versed in the scriptures, he obvious knew something about the bible and of course the only bible that they had in the 1st century was the Old Testament, we are also told that He was fervent in the spirit and only knew about the baptism of John.

We can say that this man loved God and He read the bible and knew what he knew and probably thought He had all that was needed to know, but here comes Priscilla and Aquila and the scriptures says they "explained the way of God more perfectly: now I do not know about you but I personally cannot help but wonder how Apollos must have felt after hearing from both Priscilla and Aquila, now just like I asked you, do you think He might have gotten upset? What if Apollos thought He was saved already? We are not given details but obviously what they knew about this man Apollos he needed more than what he had or else why bother to explain the way of the Lord more accurately?

Back to the tittle of this post, Epistle salvation, is this what you have? I would say there is a good chance that you already do. You see what I am trying to explain to you that there are lot of churches today who told people how to be saved totally different than what the apostles taught in the Book of Acts. Can I be plain? Did you accept Christ? Did you say a sinner's prayer? a lot of people have but would you believe neither are those methods found in the Bible if I may say it like that. The apostles did not teach that to lost people. What you probably have been told comes from a famous verse such as Romans 10:9-10;

that if you confess with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. 10For with your heart you believe and are justified, and with your mouth you confess and are saved.

Sound familiar? It is very popular, in fact people have gone door knocking and supposedly led people to Christ using this method and no telling how many people followed them by saying a repeat after me prayer, I believe it is all well and good in their sincerity but a person can be sincerely wrong and I believe this is the wrong way to go telling people how to become born again or saved. There is only one book in the New Testament we really should be using as our blueprint to salvation, and it is the Book of Acts. Why do I say that? Let's us break the New Testament down. First, we have the first four books in our New Testament bible and they are

Matthew

Mark                        The Story of Jesus By The Writers

Luke

John

_______________________________________________________

Acts                             Birth Of The Church

_______________________________________________________

Romans

1 Corinthians

2 Corinthians

Galatians

Ephesians                    Letters written to the Churches started in Acts

Philippians

Colossians

1 Thessalonians

2 Thessalonians

_________________________________________________________________________________

Of course, there are more books not listed but in general this is a outline to demonstrate my point of this post. In the New Testament we have the individual writer's story of Jesus found in Matthew,Mark,Luke and John, next we have Acts which is the historical record of the founding of the New Testament church. Did you know Acts is the only New Testament book that contains the original verbatim preaching of the apostles to lost people about Jesus? Followed by Acts we have what is called the Epistles or letters. These are letters written to ALREADY SAVED PEOPLE.I cannot stress this enough here. So, let me ask you reader, IF these are letters written to already saved people and they are already saved then WHY would Paul be telling them how to be saved IF they already were? I believe it is a serious question to be asking and I sincerely hope that you reconsider if this is how you got saved. Salvation is found in the Book of Acts. If you would like a free in home or Zoom bible study regarding what the apostles originally taught, please fill out the contact form above and I will reach out to you and share more information. There is no cost, no obligation no joining a particular church. It is my desire to share with you the Gospel and how much more God has for you. Thanks for reading.
